RAiN Forum is
A Non-profit voluntary platform for knowledge sharing and promotion of Rainwater among scientist, engineers, architects, planners, academicians, practitioners, administrators, students, young leaders and other who are, directly or indirectly, concerned in rainwater study and harvesting.
Mission:
To serve the thirsty society towards better future for humanity with a view to bring about changing attitude and realization in their mindset the blessing and requirements of safeguarding natural RAINWATER and nurturing of research, development and adapting technology of rainwater harvesting as an alternative source of water through a social networking platform among multidisciplinary people.
Objectives:
• Organize training programmes for enhancing social responsibility of citizen and make them think about future scarcity and need for natural water preservation
• Identify existing rain water harvesting practices in the country
• Research and develop further scope & techniques for collection of rain water
One of Journalist on press conference of RAiN forum asked "our farmers are not much educated but they produce food for us and contribute positively to our country. Our engineers, planners and architect are highly educated. The state of the roads, infrastructure, planning does not reflect dedicated contribution of our engineers, planners, architects. Do they think this matter to them???"
At aleast RAiN Forum would be one of an answer.....
WaterAid in Bangladesh in Collaboration with BUET, IWM, RAiN Forum and with the support from CSE, India intends to organize the First Bangladesh Convention on Rainwater Harvesting.The convention will be held during 15 -17 June 2012 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Dhaka.
